In detail

The wire is 1.0 mm across — noticeably thicker than a 0.8 mm stud post. If your piercings healed around a thinner post, a 1.0 mm hoop will feel tight going in. The hoop closes by hinging the wire into a socket in the opposite end, so there is no separate back to lose.

Looking after it

Open and close at the hinge only. Forcing the wire out of round will stop the socket seating cleanly.
